Two (2) Year Workmanship Warranty

We take pride in the quality of our workmanship and materials and are committed to delivering transportable buildings that provide years of reliable service. This Limited Warranty outlines the coverage provided with your completed building.

Warranty Period
Design A Com warrants that the workmanship involved in the construction of your building will be free from defects for a period of two (2) years from the date of practical completion or delivery, whichever occurs first.

What Is Covered
During the warranty period, Design A Com will, at its discretion, repair or rectify defects resulting from faulty workmanship or installation carried out by Design A Com.
This warranty includes, where applicable:
• Structural workmanship.• Internal wall, ceiling and floor finishes installed by Design A Com.• Doors, windows and associated hardware installed by Design A Com.• Roofing and exterior cladding installed by Design A Com.• Internal cabinetry, fixtures and fittings supplied and installed by Design A Com.• Plumbing and electrical workmanship completed by Design A Com or its authorised contractors.• Weather-tightness issues resulting directly from defective workmanship.
Where a defect is accepted as a warranty claim, Design A Com will repair or replace the affected item at no charge to the original purchaser.

Manufacturer Warranties
Many products incorporated into your building, including but not limited to:
• Appliances• Heat pumps• Hot water cylinders• Plumbing fixtures• Electrical fittings• Roofing products• Windows and glazing• Flooring products
may carry separate manufacturer warranties.
These warranties remain the responsibility of the individual manufacturer and are provided in addition to this workmanship warranty.

What Is Not Covered
This warranty does not cover defects or damage resulting from:
• Normal wear and tear.• Cosmetic changes due to natural ageing.• Settlement or movement of the building or supporting foundations after installation.• Damage caused by earthquakes, floods, storms, fire or other natural events.• Accidental damage or misuse.• Neglect or lack of normal maintenance.• Alterations or repairs carried out by persons not authorised by Design A Com.• Damage caused during transportation or relocation by others.• Damage resulting from incorrect site preparation or foundations not supplied or approved by Design A Com.• Consumable items such as light bulbs, batteries or filters.• Surface scratches, dents or minor imperfections that do not affect the function of the building.

Owner Responsibilities
To maintain warranty coverage, the owner is responsible for:
• Maintaining the building in accordance with normal good practice.• Promptly addressing any maintenance issues that may prevent further damage.• Ensuring adequate ventilation and moisture control.• Keeping gutters, downpipes and drainage systems clear.• Following all maintenance recommendations supplied by Design A Com or product manufacturers.
Failure to carry out reasonable maintenance may affect warranty coverage.

Making a Warranty Claim
If you believe your building has a defect covered by this warranty, please contact Design A Com as soon as reasonably possible.
Please provide:
• Your name and contact details.• Building address or location.• Date of purchase or delivery.• Description of the issue.• Photographs where possible.
Design A Com will assess the claim and arrange an inspection if required.
Warranty repairs will be completed within a reasonable timeframe, subject to weather conditions, access and availability of materials.

Limitation of Warranty
This warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of defective workmanship or materials supplied by Design A Com.
It does not extend to indirect, consequential or incidental loss, including loss of income, accommodation costs or business interruption, except where required by New Zealand law.
Nothing contained within this warranty limits or excludes any rights available to consumers under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or any other applicable New Zealand legislation.

Transferability
This warranty applies to the original purchaser of the building unless otherwise agreed in writing by Design A Com.
